Kunming's Dounan Flower Market is the largest fresh-cut flower trading hub in Asia, running daily auctions that set prices across the region. The province is the home of Pu'er tea and a serious arabica coffee producer, and its southwestern border with Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam makes it China's overland gateway for Southeast Asian trade, and fruit, agricultural goods, minerals and timber move through crossings like Mohan and Ruili.
Buyers here are sourcing from growers, auction floors and border traders, often in regional dialects, which is exactly where a local interpreter earns the fee. Leisure visitors heading for Dali, Lijiang or Shangri-La can use the same service for accompaniment.

Yes. Yunnan is the home of Pu'er tea and a major coffee region. I can take you to growers and processors, interpret grade, harvest and pricing talk, and keep honest notes you can compare later.
Can you assist with cross-border trade into Laos or Myanmar?
Yunnan is China's overland gateway to Southeast Asia, so border-town meetings around Mohan and Ruili are part of the work. I'll interpret the Mandarin side and help you keep the logistics and terms straight.

Do the growers or traders pay you a cut?
No. You're my only client, so I can tell you which Pu'er or coffee grower is selling their own crop and which trader is stacking a margin at the border. A commission-paid fixer steers you elsewhere; I don't have one. More on sourcing.
Is it you on the job, and what if you're booked?
For a normal Yunnan trip you get me. For a larger group I bring in vetted colleagues, and leisure visitors to Dali or Lijiang can use the same service. If your dates are taken I'll say so fast and refer someone I trust.
