Suzhou is one of the strongest manufacturing bases in the Yangtze Delta. The Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP) is the China-Singapore zone east of the old city around Jinji Lake, and together with the Suzhou New District it concentrates electronics, precision components, semiconductors and high-end contract manufacturing, alongside the silk trade the city is historically known for. The serious work spreads into the satellite factory towns: Kunshan, half an hour toward Shanghai, and Wujiang to the south.
Foreign-invested plants here often have an English-speaking sales contact, but the line walk, the QC spec, the tooling and the costing happen in Mandarin with engineering and the back office. I interpret the technical meeting at the factory's level so the spec doesn't get lost between sales and the floor, and Suzhou's half-hour rail link to Shanghai means a SIP day and a Shanghai meeting fit in one trip.

Can you handle technical factory meetings, not just general translation?
Yes. SIP and SND are electronics and precision manufacturing, so the meeting goes into spec, tooling, QC and lead time fast. I interpret at that level so engineering and the back office actually hear what you mean.
Can you cover the Kunshan and Wujiang factories?
Yes. Kunshan and Wujiang are routine runs from the city, and Kunshan in particular sits between Suzhou and Shanghai. Send me the supplier addresses and I'll plan the route to cover the most ground.
Can you join meetings in Shanghai on the same trip?
Easily. Suzhou is about half an hour from Shanghai by high-speed rail. A factory day in Suzhou and a meeting in Shanghai fit comfortably in the same trip.
What does a day at the SIP cost?
The published rates are above: $80–$140 half-day, $99–$250 a full day across the SIP and SND plants, $800–$1,250 a week. The half-hour hop to Kunshan or Shanghai, if your trip needs it, is travel inside the day rate, not a surcharge.
Do the factories you introduce pay you a commission?
No. You're my only client, which is why I can warn you when a precision factory is really subcontracting the work out, or when a quote is padded. A supplier-paid fixer can't. More on sourcing.
Is it just you on the job?
Yes, for a normal Suzhou trip you get me, not a stand-in. For a larger audit team I bring in vetted colleagues. Book ahead where you can so the dates are still open.
