Ningbo pairs one of the world's busiest container ports, Ningbo-Zhoushan out at Beilun, with a deep manufacturing base in Zhejiang: electrical goods, stationery, hardware, auto parts, and the appliance belt running through Cixi and Yuyao. The Ningbo Consumer Goods Fair brings buyers in, but most of the work is at the factory and the forwarder's office: pricing, tooling, QC terms, then the freight, incoterms and consolidation that decide what the landed cost actually is. Do you understand shipping and logistics terms, not just the factory meeting?
Yes. Ningbo is a port city, so half the conversation is freight. I interpret incoterms, consolidation, container loading and lead-time talk with the forwarder, not only the price negotiation on the factory floor.
Can you cover the Cixi and Yuyao appliance factories?
Yes, the Cixi-Yuyao appliance belt is a routine run from the city. Send me the supplier addresses and I'll plan the route so we cover the most factories in a day.
Can you join meetings in Hangzhou or Shanghai on the same trip?
Often, yes. Both are inside two hours by high-speed rail. Give me the addresses and I'll tell you whether it works as a day trip or needs an overnight.
What does a day of factory and freight meetings cost?
The published rates are above: $80–$140 half-day, $99–$250 a full day covering the line and the forwarder's office, $800–$1,250 a week. Travel out to Beilun, Cixi or the port is in the rate, and you get a written record of both the spec and the shipping terms each evening.
Do you take a commission from the factory or the forwarder?
No. My fee is yours alone, which is why I can warn you when a Cixi factory is really a trading company, or when a forwarder's rate is padded. A supplier-paid fixer has no reason to. See product sourcing.
Is it just you on the job?
Yes, for a normal Ningbo trip you get me, not a stand-in. For a larger audit team I can bring in vetted colleagues. Book a couple of weeks ahead where you can; the Consumer Goods Fair and peak shipping weeks fill up.
