FAQ

Jiuzhaigou Tour, Private Guided Days in the Valley: your questions.

How much does a private Jiuzhaigou tour cost?
Out here a private car is part of the day, so it is quoted as one guide-and-car package: reckon on $200–$320 for the group, guide and car together, with park and attraction tickets separate. Jiuzhaigou is a long drive or a short flight from Chengdu. Multi-day trips carry a per-day discount, and we put the figure in writing within 12 hours.
Is the price per person or for the whole group?
For the whole group. One guide and the day rate cover everyone, whether you are two people or six, so the cost per head drops as the group grows. Only a private car, if you add one, scales with the size of the group. Many online listings quote per person, which is why a private group rate often works out cheaper.
What is included in the tour guide fee?
The day covers the guide and the private car together, plus the travel between sights. Park and attraction tickets and meals are billed separately at face value, with no markup. The written quote lists everything before you book.
Does the tour guide price change by season?
The guide's day rate holds steady through the year. What changes with the season is availability: the autumn colour in October is the peak, and the park caps how many visitors enter each day. Book those windows early. The rate itself moves only with the length and complexity of the day, not the month.
How do I get to Jiuzhaigou?
Through Chengdu. Jiuzhaigou is about 50 minutes by flight from Chengdu, so a Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou package lets you see both on one trip. I can guide the city and the valley.
What's the main attraction?
Water. The valley is dotted with over 100 emerald and blue lakes, waterfalls and the Tibetan villages around them. It's a nature reserve and national park, so it stays pristine.
When is the best time to visit Jiuzhaigou?
Autumn, roughly October, is the famous season: the forest turns gold and red above the blue lakes. Late spring and summer are lush and green; winter is quiet and frozen into a different kind of beauty. Autumn weekends are busy, so we time entry early.
Is the altitude a problem at Jiuzhaigou?
The valley sits around 2,000 to 3,100m, high enough to feel if you've flown straight in. Take the first part of the day gently, drink water, and don't rush the boardwalk climbs. Most visitors are fine; a guide keeps the pace sensible.
Can the same person interpret if my trip is also business?
Yes. Jiuzhaigou stages through Chengdu, so the guide who runs the valley is also your Chengdu interpreter for any supplier meetings on the same trip.
